Brisbane’s Biggest Hearts! OzHarvest Celebrates 8 years with an epic Birthday Party…

Each year, PDPR aligns with a charitable organisation to provide marketing services in a pro-bono capacity. In 2019, PDPR were proud to provide all PR for Australia’s leading food rescue organisation, OzHarvest, for their Cakes for a Cause campaign – celebrating 8 years of OzHarvest nourishing the Brisbane community.

In order to give back to those most in need, OzHarvest brought together chefs, bakers and cake makers across Brisbane to create 100 exquisite birthday cakes. The Cakes for a Cause were then donated to local charities that receive OzHarvest food in the hope of raising $100,000 as each cake was sponsored by a local business or generous individual.

In the lead-up to the campaign launch, OzHarvest’s QLD state manager Amy Cobb stated “There are still so many people going hungry and simple things that many of us take for granted, like having a birthday cake, are not possible for someone who is struggling to put food on the table. OzHarvest Brisbane has one birthday wish and that is for those doing it tough to experience the joy of a beautiful birthday cake.”

The 8th birthday celebrations, held in late November, saw over 200 friends, including CEO Ronni Kahn and Cr Vicki Howard, sponsors and VIPs at the event held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. With 100 cakes on display, it was something truly special.
